PTE Speaking Test Tips and Question Types:
Personal Introduction:
This section will not be evaluated. It is only to make the candidates more comfortable and ready for the test. You will get 25 seconds to read the prompt and prepare your answer and 30 seconds to record your voice. As you can only record your voice once so make sure you record it properly. Besides, you will get only 30 seconds to record your voice.

Read Aloud:
Read Aloud is the easiest question type in the PTE Speaking test. It consists of straightforward and easy questions. There will be 6 to 7 questions in this section. You will get 35 seconds to prepare each answer and 30 to 40 seconds to record your response. Make sure you complete your response before the progress bar reaches the end. Read Aloud question type has an integrated scoring pattern that means you will get marks for both reading and speaking skills and get scores on content, pronunciation, and oral fluency.
Repeat Sentence:
It is the second question type in the PTE Speaking test. There will be 10 to 12 questions in this section. You will get only 3-9 seconds to prepare each answer and 15 seconds to record your response. This section will test your listening and speaking skills, and you will get scores on content, pronunciation, and oral fluency. You will score maximum marks for repeating every word in the correct sequence.
Describe Image:
In the PTE Speaking test, describe image is the most challenging question type. You will get various images, including bar graphs, pie charts, line graphs, table graphs, etc. There will be 6-7 questions in this section, and you will get 25 seconds to see the image or prepare your answer. Besides, you will get 40 seconds to record your answer, so make sure you complete your response before the progress bar reaches the end.
This section will assess your speaking skills only, and you will get scores on content, pronunciation, and oral fluency. You can use the Erasable Noteboard Booklet to jot down the main points. To score high in this section, you need to be spontaneous and fluent like a native English speaker.
Re-tell Lecture:
It is the fourth question type in the PTE Speaking test. There will be 3 to 4 questions in this test. In this section, you will hear a lecture and an image displayed on the computer screen. After the lecture, you will get 10 seconds to prepare your answer and 40 seconds to record your response. While you are listening, you can use the Erasable Noteboard Booklet to jot down the main points. This section will evaluate your listening and speaking skills, and you will get scores on content, pronunciation, and oral fluency.
Answer Short Question
It is the fifth and the last question type in the PTE Speaking test. As the name indicates, you have to answer short questions in this section. There will be 10-12 questions in total, and you will get 10 seconds to answer each question. This section will evaluate your listening and speaking skills. This section will not test your general knowledge but your vocabulary. You will get 1 point for each correct answer and get no marks for an incorrect answer and no response.
